Senior Creative Director
Mark brings over three decades of brand, marketing and creative expertise to co-architect/facilitate BrandIGNITION™, helping our clients leverage the power of their brand. Mark also provides creative leadership for many of the agency's business units, from strategy to design, wherever there is a need. He has worked in several industries (from telecommunications to biopharma) and capacities (Marketing Manager, Product Manager and Creative Director). Mark's enthusiasm for design excellence and an eye for detail has resulted in ADDY, Telly and Omni Intermedia awards. He has expert 3D skills and a particular forté in photography retouching using Photoshop. In his personal life, Mark is an accomplished fine artist and avid cyclist.
Joe has 15 years of experience in the graphic design and multimedia industry. Currently, Joe is attending the University of Southern Indiana and working on his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Advertising. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife and three kids. Joe describes himself as a bit of a nerd (his words!) and enjoys the comic convention scene. For the past three years, he has served as media director of a local convention that he started with friends who share his fondness for all things nerdy.
Ron’s the boss (though he won’t admit to it out loud). He has nearly 30 years of experience in business and agency management. He founded the original company, Firehouse Marketing, in 1990, which merged with Rainbow Communications in 2004 to become Fire & Rain. Ron is a very hands-on leader and oversees the strategic and day-to-day activities. He loves golfing, water skiing and working out.
Senior Communications Specialist and Artist
Shannon has worked in advertising and marketing for 23 years, including 15 in newspaper, where she gained knowledge in print layout, photography and video production. Shannon holds a degree in graphic design with a multimedia specialty, and has specialized in e-newsletters and emails in the healthcare industry for the past seven years. Volunteering has been a passion for most of Shannon's life: She is a civilian on the 911 Gives Hope board and a designer for the tristate's annual Guns & Hoses charity boxing event. She enjoys listening to all types of music, quoting movies in conversation, and spending time with friends, family (husband James and son Beau) and her two dogs (Pepe Loco and Serj Elton John—although Pepe is her favorite, and Serj knows it). An avid Apple enthusiast, Shannon received sympathy cards when Steve Jobs passed away.
Dena has over 15 years of experience in accounting, budgeting and cost management. She oversees company financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash-flow planning, payroll and human resources. Dena loves spending time with her family and pets and occasionally playing golf. She’s also in pretty tight with the Donald, as Celebrity Apprentice is her favorite TV show.
Executive Producer, Creative Director
Jay has been with Fire & Rain for over 30 years. As executive producer and creative director, Jay has successfully produced hundreds of meetings and events around the world for a diverse clientele including Microsoft, YUM! Brands (A&W, Arby’s, KFC), Atlas World Group, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Corporate Express and Abbott PPD. Industry awards include several Telly awards, an Omni and an Emmy. He is also a genuine Eagle Scout. Jay can often be found carrying a ridiculously heavy backpack, leading a bunch of middle and high schoolers up and down mountains for days at a time. (We think there’s something wrong with him, but we’re just not sure what it is yet.)
Mark leads our post-production dept, where all of the pieces come together. Whether working closely with a producer, creative director or on his own, his 18-year background in video editing, 2D/3D animation, audio production and web content creation allow him to take projects to the next level as they pass through his department. Mark is a life-long musician and leans heavily on his sense of pace and timing to bring emotion and vision to projects. He also writes, records and produces music in his home studio and builds electric guitars as a hobby, which has generated interest in the US and UK.
Ron has over 15 years of experience in marketing, having spent the majority of his professional career at regional and local financial institutions working in various marketing roles. Ron has an extensive background that includes CRM (MCIF) system administration, website and social media management, direct mail program coordination, marketing project management, event planning and execution, and digital marketing. Ron is a member of the local NWTF, an avid hunter, car guy and recently took up making rustic handmade furniture to fill in his time between hunting seasons. When he is not tinkering in the garage on his Jeep or building furniture, he enjoys spending time with his wife Katelynne and their three fur babies, Phoenix, Oakley and Nixon, their latest rescue.
Liz has more than 15 years of experience in marketing communications, with expertise in account and project management, strategic planning, leadership and creative writing, copy editing and proofreading, and has worked with major pharmaceutical companies for more than 10 years. She has a BS in Journalism (and a minor in Spanish) from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. In her "spare time," Liz enjoys hanging out with her husband and their three boys, spending time with friends, doing yoga, shopping and repeatedly starting and stopping random projects around the house. She also loves playing and cuddling with her two rescue dogs.
President, Organizational Excellence and Learning
Patty has over 20 years of experience working with Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies to achieve their marketing objectives through strategic communications and leadership initiatives. Throughout her career, Patty has held positions in sales, marketing, market research and executive leadership development. Patty loves hiking and biking with her family in Colorado (where they live!) and brings this passion to the Experiential Leadership and Training Programs she delivers with the F&R team.
Graphic Artist / Pre-Press
Maggie has 25 years of experience in graphic pre-press production, editing and advertising development. She has been involved with creating promotional brochures, print ads and instructional material for healthcare, manufacturing, financial, telecom and furniture industry clients. She and her husband spend their off time keeping up with an active daughter and enjoy boating on the Ohio river. In rare, quiet moments, Maggie enjoys losing herself in a good book. In a past life she has been on-air talent for public radio and a stage manager for professional productions. (She hasn’t slept since the 1980s.)
Project Manager, Technical Writer
Vicky has over 17 years of experience in project management and product and process documentation. She has a passion for improving the consumer's user experience, which she was able to apply in her earlier career as a retail buyer. During her career, Vicky has been instrumental in developing customer-friendly formats that also reduced the cost of producing instructional literature for her clients. She has also taught a Technical Communications course for apprentices in the building trades and volunteered as an adult literacy tutor. A native of Ohio and a graduate of Miami University, she has enjoyed life in many cities, including Dayton, Chicago, Cleveland (west side, east side and south side!), State College, Pennsylvania, and Maryville, Tennessee, before she, her husband and daughter made Evansville their home. Vicky enjoys family vacations, reading mystery/suspense novels and working puzzles.
Judy has a journalism degree (with a minor in Equine Science!) She’s authored and co-authored history/anniversary books for Holy Name Church, Henderson, KY and the Diocese of Owensboro, KY. Judy enjoys reading, horseback riding and spending time with her dogs. In fact, she loves animals so much that she currently owns All Creatures Great & Small Pet-Sitting Service in Henderson!
Chief Operations Officer
Amanda has over 12 years of experience with Fire & Rain. A majority of her time here has been spent on coordinating marketing programs in the healthcare industry. Most recently, her principal responsibilities have shifted to the day-to-day leadership and general management of the company. You can often find her collaborating with the high-performance team members of Fire & Rain. Amanda is a Texas State University graduate, where she majored in Public Relations and minored in Business Administration. She owns horses, dogs, cats, roping steers and a couple of miniature donkeys, so when she’s not taking care of them or working, you can find her team roping and riding horses with her husband and son.
Graphic Artist / Pre-Press
Amy has over 25 years of experience in design, graphic arts and pre-press production. With a BS in Art from the University of Southern Indiana, she has created print brochures, product labels, packaging, and promotional material for healthcare, manufacturing, financial, telecom and furniture industry clients. She enjoys talking to her cats, drinking margaritas and eating cake (not necessarily in that order). Her lifelong dream is to become a zookeeper at a koala sanctuary in Australia. Did we mention that she likes to eat cake?
Sally has 9 years experience working with pharmaceutical companies to develop a wide range of creative, engaging training materials for workshops and study programs in the following therapeutic areas: Immunology/Asthma, Hematology, Depression, Rheumatology, Cardiology (including statins and platelet inhibitor therapies), Ophthalmology, and Oncology (including breast, kidney, lung, liver and blood cancer therapies). Sally also has experience developing training in the areas of managed markets, access and reimbursement. Sally earned a B.S. in Biology from Portland State University and an M.A. in Teaching from Pacific University and currently resides in Arizona. She spends her free time hiking, practicing yoga and traveling internationally.
Copywriter & Proofreader
Lindsey holds a B.S. in Food and Nutrition from the University of Southern Indiana and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Evansville. Her writing and editing experience includes web, marketing materials, higher education publications, trade books, magazines and curriculum. For over 7 years, Lindsey has specialized in writing and proofreading for healthcare marketing and marketing communications clients. In her spare time she enjoys running, yoga, reading and hanging out with her dogs, Dora and Cooper.
Melissa is Fire & Rain's accounting clerk and is responsible for accounts payable, purchase orders, manning the phones and shipping. With a background in sales and human resources, she is currently working on her Business Administration degree with a minor in Human Resource Management. Melissa has a daughter named Aubrey who is her little best friend, her heart and soul who is always by her side (when not at work). Melissa has a strong commitment to her faith and has a heart for domestic and international mission trips. She is also a huge Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan, and in her spare time she loves sleep, food, sleep, the beach...and sleep.
Karla joined the Fire & Rain team in 2017 as print specialist. Karla has a BS and MHRM in IT, and her past experience includes sales, customer service, substitute teaching and having her own freelance IT business. In her free time, Karla enjoys painting, making jewelry, photography and spending time outdoors. Her dream is to one day live near the mountains and own a small coffee shop that has music and art shows for local talent.
DVP, Account Services
You could say that Mark knows Fire & Rain inside and out! He now leads the same account services team that used to support him when he was a client of ours. Industry experience that spans field sales, US marketing and global strategy, as well as agency work in patient, provider and payer makes him a valuable addition to our already well-rounded team. Our clients look to Mark to connect strategy to design to implementation, always with a keen eye on the end result—exceeding expectations. Mark has been described as passionate, a moniker he is proud of. He has a penchant for inspiring teams to explore the road less traveled in pursuit of excellence. He enjoys reading, writing, running…and the occasional triathlon.
Director of Resourcing & Operations
Alan is a training manager with over 20 years experience organizing corporate training programs for Fortune 500 clients. He has headed up many teams in the design, development and implementation of major product launches, training modules and digital media projects. He has considerable expertise supervising projects in a variety of formats, including meeting environments, modular learning systems, digital, video, audio and print media. When not working on client projects, Alan enjoys his role as Executive Director of WCT, a new play development theater company he started 6 years ago in New York.
Christal holds a B.S. in Public Relations and Advertising from the University of Southern Indiana. Her background includes sales, marketing, copywriting and program coordination. With a passion for all things creative along with her skills in writing, marketing, organization and a desire to tackle any challenge, Christal is a perfect fit for our team. Outside of Fire & Rain, Christal loves beach vacations, movies, family time, party planning, cheesecake, and her 2 adorable puggles—who get away with everything.
Production Manager, Systems Administrator
Alice has over 30 years of experience in graphic pre-press production, project scheduling, IT systems administration and online digital asset management systems. She has created direct mail, direct-to-physician and direct-to-consumer materials for healthcare, manufacturing, financial and telecom clients. When she’s not keeping our ever-growing stable of Macs, iPhones, iPads and printers up and running, she enjoys spending time with family, including her two boys, her horses Velvet, Preacher and Cutter, and dogs Duke and Chewy. She also enjoys home remodeling, wine tasting, and just about every movie genre except horror. When she retires, she'd like to travel the country and see all its beauty before settling down in a tiny little cottage, on a little plot of ground, with a small garden and chickens and just relax for a while.
Greta has over 20 years with Fire & Rain, 15 of those as the principal account manager for Mead Johnson Nutrition, where she is the project manager for direct marketing, sales collateral and packaging projects. She also spent several years in customer service at MJN. Her hobbies include gardening, running, bicycling and antique shopping. Greta and her husband love exploring new restaurants in towns they’ve visited and hope to eventually retire in Key West, or “anywhere tropical, really.”
Graphic Artist / Illustrator
Libby is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a BS in Advertising and Marketing. She has over 10 years of experience as a graphic artist, from producing technical product literature to more creative layouts, logos and animations. Libby is a hard worker with a thirst for continued learning and improvement and acquiring new skills. In her spare time, she has run seven half-marathons, which she uses as training for chasing after her energetic son, Parker. When he isn't keeping her busy, she loves to sing, read and binge on good movies.
With 19 years of experience in education, Lyndra holds an MS in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Library Science. Born and raised in Kansas, Lyndra wasn’t swept here by a tornado, but her life was a whirlwind at times raising her triplet boys. They have grown into handsome, wonderful young men now, and are still very near and dear to their mother’s heart. Lyndra is often immersed in digital photo restoration, scrapbooking, iTunes and her Yorkie, Sadie. In nice weather, you may see her on the back of her husband’s red Kawasaki 900 Vulcan…live long and prosper!
Laura holds a B.F.A. in Communication Design from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Her background includes sales, marketing and consulting positions in the insurance, wireless and information technology industries, as well as a colorful year spent substitute teaching. Laura’s career sights and passion for design brought her back to the creative industry in recent years. She worked as an Art Director for a small media company in Southern Illinois, prior to joining the Fire & Rain team. She originally hails from Chicago, Illinois and holds an incredible sense of perseverance, having been raised a Cubs fan. A self-proclaimed fitness junkie and coffee lover, Laura’s other passions include hiking, camping, sailing, painting, cooking and wine.
Jill Padgett, Ed.D.
Learning and Development
With more than 25 years’ experience in adult education, sales training and curriculum development, Jill holds a Doctorate in Education, an MBA in Marketing, and a BS in Business. Dr. Padgett has partnered with myriad pharmaceutical and biotech firms to develop dynamic learning solutions focusing on maximizing your company’s most important asset—people. Her focus is on a strategic blended approach to preparation, application and transfer of learning in an engaging, interactive format that resonates with needs of today’s learners. Jill also holds a registered securities representative license—Series 7 and Series 66, and has facilitated and trained new hire sales training in the financial industry. Jill loves the Arizona sunshine and spends time enjoying the outdoors. You can also find her practicing yoga and gaining enrichment from visits to Africa, China, Tibet and many other wonderful places.
Molly is a graduate of Saint Louis University with a B.S. in Business Administration. She's held several positions in her 7+ years at Fire & Rain, currently as Accounting Supervisor. She oversees accounts payable, purchase orders, project budget tracking, managing time sheets, human resources, and supports Dena in a day-to-day financial and operational activities. In her spare time, Molly can be found chasing after her rambunctious toddler, Nolan, husband John, and dogs Doug and Louie. She also enjoys singing in her church choir, playing the piano, and is a ringer at "Name That Tune."
Noel Rettig, Ed.D.
VP, Organizational Excellence and Learning
Noel strongly believes that people are an organizational best, and in the end, only differential advantage. She has spent more than four decades working with organizations and their teams in strengthening culture, building high performance teams, strategic planning, and aligning strategy and objectives with vision and mission. She is an experienced facilitator who often jokes her favorite “F” word is “Focus”. She will tell you that Emotional Intelligence is the key to successful leadership and is certified to deliver the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI). In addition, she leads Fire & Rain’s BrandIGNITION™, assisting corporations in clearly defining their brand and space in the marketplace. She practices the idea that learning should be a profoundly inspiring and transforming endeavor. She has tracked the mountain gorilla in Uganda, hiked the Himalayas, white water rafted in Nepal and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Each adventure broadens her perspective and brings clarity to what’s really important.
Database Manager, Graphic Artist, Illustrator
Julie is a graduate of the University of Evansville with a BS in Art and Associated Study in Math. She has 20 years of experience in the graphic design and production industry, ranging from pre-press, technical literature layout and illustration, technology research and implementation, and database management. Julie enjoys following her son in his numerous activities (sports, scouts, FFA, etc.) and volunteers as the treasurer for his Boy Scout Troop. She, her husband and son have one dog and two cats that keep them entertained. The family also likes to hunt, fish, camp and go to archery tourneys. When Julie's busy schedule slows down, she'd like to get back into bigger archery tourneys (she and her husband competed in a world archery tournament a few years back!) and travel.
Staging / Lighting Director
David is a jack-of-all-trades and wears many hats within Fire & Rain. In his 30+-year career, he has developed award-winning visual media productions, created dynamic room environments and has lensed productions in all 50 states and several foreign countries. David’s passion is lighting, and it shows in the body of work he has created over the years. David also enjoys photography, film-making, biking and anything outdoors, but most importantly, being a father.
Whitney joined Fire & Rain's Account Management team in 2015. She holds a B.S. degree in Public Relations and Advertising from University of Southern Indiana. Before joining Fire and Rain, she worked as a Marketing Analyst and Account Manager for P&I Supply, a US distributor of safety and welding items. Her experience includes sales collateral design, e-commerce and order entry management, product quoting and performance reporting. Whitney has also assisted The American Red Cross with event planning. A proud owner of a Doberman named Duchess and an avid horse lover, Whitney can often be found running, hiking or visiting horse farms in Lexington, KY. She is also a die-hard Yankees fan.
An admitted "word nerd," Michael has more than 12 years of professional writing and editing experience in an agency environment, having spent a decade producing home appliance technical literature before moving on to pharmaceutical communications. A native of Indianapolis and proud valedictorian of his high school class, Michael has lived in Evansville since earning a BS in Public Relations and Advertising (with a minor in Marketing) from the University of Southern Indiana in 2003. Michael and his wife Amanda (a fellow USI alum) have a wonderful son named Evan. They enjoy traveling around the Midwest to attend sporting events (especially hockey games) and Broadway musicals. Amanda can often be heard telling her husband "there's something wrong with you," a sentiment Michael embraces as a badge of honor.
Chief Marketing Officer
Dave is one of the newest members of the Fire & Rain team, but is by no means a newbie when it comes to the agency business. Formerly a Principal at KFS, Dave has more than 30 years of marketing, communications, sales training and meetings experience—primarily focused in the life sciences and biopharma sector. Dave has led major accounts, launch teams and worked as creative lead on accounts such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Bayer, Otsuka and Genentech. An avid musician and songwriter, Dave likes to relax in his home studio by turning his amp up to 11 and pretending to be a rock star. He and his family live in Newburgh, Indiana, where they enjoy walks along the river and trying to keep up with their puppy, Wesley.
Strategy and Account Planning
After over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, and a background in chemistry, medical affairs and marketing, Roland decided to leave the corporate world over 15 years ago and has been with Fire & Rain since. He brings a mature and expansive background to his clients and has led the agency relationship with large and small pharmaceutical clients, including Eli Lilly, Takeda, Lundbeck, Baxter, Xanodyne and Evolve BioSystems. His therapeutic areas of experience include depression, osteoporosis, nutrition and pain management. In partnership with the client, Roland developed the creative strategy and led the tactical execution of a variety of highly cost-effective CRM campaigns, including some of the earliest market segmentation programs. He also has worked with multiple product launch teams to guide theming, agenda development and all levels of presentations, including C-suite, as well as providing presenter coaching and coordination on-site. In his spare time, Roland enjoys gardening, traveling with his wife, and photography, especially landscapes and wildlife.
Director of Project Resources
Sue brings over 20 years of experience in collaborating with client leads and our internal team to manage complex internal communications, corporate meetings and learning and engagement projects. Residing in the woods just south of Indianapolis, she enjoys flower and vegetable gardening and loves learning local history. A collector of vintage flower frogs, she is always on the lookout to acquire unique pieces.
Angie has over 30 years of experience in production, art direction and creative design. She has created direct mail, packaging and promotional material for healthcare, manufacturing, financial, telecom and furniture industry clients. In her spare time Angie enjoys cooking, entering BBQ contests, making old, dumpy houses new again, real estate and vacations at the beach. She loves her boys, grandsons, family and vacations at the beach. She’s acquired a taste for beer, hates shopping and loves vacations at the beach. Do you see a pattern here?
Senior Producer, Director
Dan has spent nearly his entire 25-year career in corporate communications, producing and directing video pieces for clients that include many Fortune 500 companies. He has also acquired a uniquely broad understanding of all the technical and creative elements that are involved in producing a live corporate event and possesses an exceptional ability to effectively manage every detail.
Tiffany is the smiling face and friendly voice that first greets you as you walk in our front door or call us on the phone. She’s also a whiz with numbers and serves as our Accounting Clerk—responsible for accounts payable, purchase orders, managing time sheets, human resources and day-to-day projects. Tiffany is married with two little girls and loves spending time with family when she’s not working, taking accounting classes at WGU or studying. In her spare time she’s an avid IU fan and cheers for the St. Louis Cardinals. Tiffany is also an animal lover and has 2 dogs, a cat and a black swan named Swanee.
Sara earned a BA in Spanish Studies from the University of Southern Indiana and proceeded to do nothing with her knowledge of the Spanish language outside of placing an order at her local Hispanic restaurant now and then. She kicked off her working years in the financial industry, eventually finding an interest in marketing when she won an employee contest designing a logo at Heritage Federal Credit Union. Her six years of experience in marketing and communications includes community service programs, marketing/campaign promotion, social media programs, event management, vendor management and marketing project management. A book lover and nature lover, she can sometimes be found sitting in the grass barefoot with a book (or three). Sara and her wife Sabrina also enjoy cooking breakfast once a month at local United Caring Shelters with their four children in tow (call her crazy for that, because we sure do).
